Reading – My little break from everyday life
There are few things better than immersing yourself in a good book. Whether it’s a classic hardcover or the convenience of an e-book, reading is the perfect way for me to escape from everyday life and discover new worlds.
Especially on vacation, I enjoy switching off with an exciting novel or an inspiring story. Here with us in the Hauserei Lounge, snuggled up in an armchair with a drink, it’s wonderful to forget the time. Or even better: a relaxing day of reading in the Roof top Spa while the sun sets and Steeg glows in the soft evening light.
Whether it’s a thriller, novel or non-fiction book – for me, reading means freedom, relaxation and a bit of adventure.
Where do you prefer to read and which format do you prefer?
I know there are different opinions, but I see the advantages in both formats:
The classic book: I love the feel of paper in my hands, the smell of freshly printed pages and the rustle of turning the pages. It makes reading a sensual experience. And a book is a great gift in itself. And a beautiful bookshelf simply has a very special charm!
The e-book: practical and light-perfect for traveling. An e-book can hold thousands of books. You can customize the step size and the background lighting. New publications are available much faster as an e-book, namely within seconds, even on Sundays or at three in the morning.
But the joy of reading lies not just in the physical pages or the electronic screen, but in the magic of words and their ability to spark the human imagination. Whether you prefer the crackle of pages in your hand or the convenience of an electronic device, reading remains an indispensable source of inspiration and entertainment. It is a bridge between the past and the future, between tradition and innovation. Ultimately, it is not the form of the medium, but the words themselves that constitute the true essence of reading.
What if I had to choose? (Which, thank God, I don’t have to)
The e-book is probably better for everyday life and vacations, but definitely a printed book for special moments!
And you?
