Cold herbs for homemade ointments, drops, teas and more
In the picturesque Lech Valley, surrounded by lush alpine meadows and clear mountain streams, you will not only find breathtaking landscapes, but also a variety of medicinal herbs. Many of these medicinal herbs can help us to relieve colds. At the Hauserei, our vacation home in the middle of the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps at the foot of the Arlberg, we rely on the power of nature and make our own ointments, teas, drops and bath additives.

THE TREASURES OF THE LECH VALLEY
The Lech Valley is home to a variety of herbs that have been valued and used for generations for their healing properties. These include arnica, St. John’s wort, ribwort and thyme, to name but a handful. The unique nature of the Lech Valley offers a wealth of treasures that can be used for health and well-being.

HOMEMADE OINTMENTS
At the Hauserei, we make our ointments with a lot of love and care from herbs we collect ourselves and from the garden. For example, an ointment made from camomile and marigold helps with skin irritated by colds and an ointment with thyme and hyssop can be effective as a cold balm.

TEA FOR BODY, MIND AND SOUL
Some of the best known cold herbs found here in the Lech Valley are thyme, sage, lime blossom and elderflower, which are rich in essential oils and have an expectorant, anti-inflammatory effect and strengthen the immune system. The easiest and quickest way to benefit from the positive properties of these herbs is to make a tea from fresh or dried herbs. A cold tea can help to alleviate various symptoms and support the healing process. In addition, enjoying a good cup of tea is… balm for body, mind and soul.

SOOTHING COLD DROPS
For a supportive effect from the inside, we also offer homemade herbs/cough drops. They are a natural alternative to industrial preparations and help in a gentle way.
We live with the nature of the Lech Valley and rely on the healing power of herbs, meadows and forests. Our guests at the Hauserei not only learn to admire these treasures on their hikes, but also how to use them in various workshops and guided herb hikes. We are happy to share our knowledge with you! Come by and let yourself be enchanted!
