Numerous hiking trails around Steeg are waiting to be discovered – from leisurely strolls along the Lech to panoramic high-altitude trails in the Lechtal Alps. The varied landscape along the Lech, alpine meadows and striking peaks make Steeg an ideal starting point for hikers, photographers and nature lovers.
A classic is the panoramic trail from Steeg via Hager to Holzgau, which is one of the most beautiful high-altitude trails in the Tiroler Lech Nature Park. Along the way, you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Lech Valley, the surrounding peaks and the sun-drenched slopes.
Thanks to the Jöchelspitzbahn cable car, which takes guests comfortably up to around 1,800 meters, there is also an easier tour to the top – perfect if you want an easier mountain experience.
The family-friendly suspension bridge hike, which offers exciting views of the Lech and the surrounding forests, starts directly from Steeg. Those who prefer a quieter pace will find idyllic places to rest, marvel and switch off on the paths to the surrounding alpine pastures – ideal for escaping everyday life for a few hours and consciously experiencing nature.
Tip: Start early in the morning to make the most of the best light conditions for photos. When the first rays of sunshine make their way over the peaks, they bathe the Lech Valley in a warm, soft light – perfect for atmospheric landscape and nature shots. Pack plenty of water, a small snack and a light jacket, because even on sunny days it can get chilly at altitude.
